Valley Lighting President and CEO John Gaburick to Retire

Valley Lighting President and CEO John Gaburick will retire at the end of December. John has served as President and CEO since April 2006, and prior to that was Executive Vice President.

John, 73, recently celebrated 50 years in the workforce, having previously held positions at Price Waterhouse, Black & Decker, and Media Dimensions. John, a certified Public Accountant, holds a B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University, and says he came to Valley “a fish out of water,” as he didn’t have an electrical background and was formerly rooted in Accounting, Finance and Administration.

Despite the new industry, John feels he “bought into a sound company with a strong bench” and that Valley can attribute such fantastic development since 2006 to an effective growth model and the investment of its people’s time, energy, and drive.

Though John will retire on December 31, 2014, he will remain active on Valley Lighting’s Board as its Chairman for three years. After retirement, John’s focus will be on health, catching up on home projects and spending time with Natalie, his wife of 50 years, his 3 married children and 10 grandchildren.

We thank John for his leadership over the past 10 years at Valley Lighting and wish him good health in his retirement.
